- The Iraq War was an armed conflict that began because of the invasion of Iraq led by the United States in 2003.

Timeline (2002-2011)
January 1998- Iraq eradicates all cooperation with the UN.
October 1998- Saddam Hussein prohibits all inspections
December 1998- Known as Operation Desert Fox, United States and Britain bomb Iraq for 4 days, in hope to damage all of Iraq's weapon storages.
January 1999- Continuing through out year, US and Britain order weekly and sometimes sometimes daily bombings, with the goal of breaking down Saddam Hussein's leadership of Iraq.
January 2002- US President, George W. Bush states that Iraq and 2 other countries are "Axis of Evil"
September 2002- President Bush asks the UN to take action towards a solution for Iraq, otherwise the US will take the matters into their own hands.
January 2003- President Bush states that he is ready to attack Iraq.
March 2003- President Bush declares war on Iraq. War begins a day later, and US begins air strikes on Iraq. Ground troops are also deployed.
November 2003- Through the course of the battles within this month, over 75 US troops are killed.
December 2003- Iraq leader Saddam Hussein is captured by US.
February 2004- Over 160 Iraqis are killed by bombs throughout this month.
May 2004- A suicide bomber kills Izzedin Salim, the head of Iraq's governing council.
June 2004- Within the first 17 days of June, over 100 people are killed by car bombs.
September 2004- American death toll reached 1,000 and 7,000 injured.
February 2005- A suicide bomber kills 115 people who were attempting to be employed by the Iraq police.
December 2006- Bombings continue throughout the whole year. American death toll reaches over 3,000.
July 2007- A truck full of explosives kills or wounds hundreds or women, children, and soldiers.
April 2009- Over 150 Iraqis are injured or killed by bombs.
October & December 2009- Over 1,000 people are killed or injured by bombs.
December 2011- The US and Iraq war ends, but the conflict and bombing still remain in Iraq even today.
